Serene Gardens and WRG Senior Living Partner to Acquire Two MI Assisted Living Communities

121-Units Across 2 Buildings in Grand Blanc, MI & Hartland, MI

GRAND BLANC, Mich., Jul. 26, 2023—Serene Gardens, in partnership with WRG Senior Living, is pleased to announce the acquisition of two licensed, Home for the Aged assisted living and memory care communities in Grand Blanc and Hartland, MI, formerly operated as Bella Vita of Grand Blanc and Bella Vita of Hartland

Each community offers 61 private apartments divided into assisted living wings and specialized memory care wings for residents with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia.

During the transition of ownership, Serene Gardens & WRG Senior Living were proud to retain all existing team members, ensuring continuity of care and providing employees with exciting new career growth opportunities. In addition, a registered nurse was added to the team by the new owners to strengthen the clinical and care services provided to the residents.

The transaction represents the second strategic partnership between Serene Gardens and WRG Senior Living, the first being the acquisition of a specialized memory care in Davison, MI in February 2023.

The Grand Blanc and Hartland communities join a growing family of Serene Gardens locations throughout Michigan including Clarkston, Rochester Hills, Sterling Heights, Imlay City, DeWitt, and a second affiliate community in Grand Blanc on Cook Road recently rebranded as Serene Meadows.

For WRG Senior Living, the 2 newly acquired assets compliment a portfolio of senior living properties in Michigan including Covenant Glen of Frankenmuth, The Woodlands of DeWitt, Legacies Village in Caledonia, and Pineview Cottage in Harbor Springs.

Serene Gardens founder and managing partner Zakwan Aboudane commented, “We are proud to expand our footprint in Michigan and bring our mission of extraordinary care in a home-like environment to new locations. Having a network of centrally located communities throughout east and southeast Michigan has allowed us to develop a strong infrastructure of team members, support services, and clinical leadership that improves care outcomes for our residents and provides career advancement opportunities for our employees.”

WRG Senior Living Partner Nick Rivette commented, “We were excited to complete this acquisition in a challenging transaction environment. We brought together WRG’s and Serene Garden’s equity investors and were able to secure mortgage assumptions from the seller’s local banks making it a win-win for all groups involved.”

In addition to partnering to raise the equity, Serene Gardens and WRG Senior Living will co-manage the operations of the Grand Blanc and Hartland communities. The partnership is continuing to grow, and they expect to close several more acquisitions by year end 2023.

Both Serene Gardens of Grand Blanc and Hartland locations are accepting new residents. For tours or inquiries, contact Megan Rheingans, Regional Director, by email at megan.r@serenegardensmi.com or by phone at 810-247-1850.
