July 2, 2020

WRG is pleased to announce that partners Clarence Rivette, Brandon Loomis, Eric Finnigan, and Nick Rivette have formed Michigan Plumbing Group, LLC (MPG) with long-term Partner Matt Engel to acquire and expand a Mr. Rooter Plumbing and Drain Company franchise in West Michigan. The acquisition represents WRG’s opportunistic investment strategy and the company’s focus on “good partners, good projects”. The addition of a service-oriented business in the property space is a perfect complement to the real estate development activities WRG has undertaken throughout West Michigan.

Established in 1970, Mr. Rooter is the second largest full-service plumbing and drain cleaning company in the United States. Recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine among its “Franchise 500” and by Franchise Times Magazine as one of its “Top 200,” Mr. Rooter franchisees provide services to both residential and commercial customers at more than 200 locations in the United States and Canada.

WRG partners Eric Finnigan and Brandon Loomis are based in WRG’s Grand Rapids office and commented, “Matt’s extensive experience with several property related service companies was a solid foundation for us to partner with him to form Michigan Plumbing Group (MPG) and acquire this Mr. Rooter franchise. WRG is an equity partner in MPG and provides equipment lease finance solutions and growth capital for the new company.”

MPG / Mr. Rooter of Grand Rapids currently employs seven trained technicians and has a dedicated marketing associate and call center. Plans are underway to expand the current service region which will
result in a territory in West Michigan from Muskegon to Kalamazoo, and the Michigan shoreline communities.
